Residents in the Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre area are set to benefit from two state-of-the-art Philips ultrasound scanners at Blackpool Victoria Hospital.  The iU22 is the company’s premium ultrasound product for general imaging.

The equipment will be used for in-patient and out-patient services and will cover all general imaging applications, apart from breast and obstetrics.

Radiology directorate manager Ian Ellwood said: “These scanners give a far superior diagnostic image that can only benefit our patients in terms of quality of service, including the fact that there is less likelihood of patients having to return for further tests.”
