Philips Healthcare has installed the first IntelliSpace PACS 4.4 in the UK at South West London Breast Screening Service’s Rose Centre at St George’s Hospital, London. The installation includes integration to the National Breast Screening Service and allows images to be viewed seamlessly between the Rose Centre, peripheral screening clinics and the hospital.

PACS procurement lead and consultant radiologist Dr Louise Wilkinson said: “After a competitive tender, Philips were the preferred provider because of the speed of images to desktop, the robust back-up storage proposals, and connectivity with current trust PACS. This has enabled co-location of the screening and symptomatic breast services, with integration of the RIS systems of both work streams.  We envisage that improved ways of working will aid our ability to expand the screening service in future.”
