Royal Sussex chooses CT system for cardiac work

At Royal Sussex County Hospital are consultant paediatric radiologist Dr Lorraine Moon, senior radiographers Gavin Coulson and Sophie English, assistant practitioner Kayleigh Nash, senior radiographer Darren Sanders, superintendent CT radiographer Lakidzani Shalten Tambula, acting clinical modality manager for cross-sectional imaging Wendy Bates and Siemens Healthcare regional sales manager Clive West.

Royal Sussex County Hospital, run by Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals, has installed a Somatom Definition Flash and Somatom Definition AS from Siemens Healthcare along with syngo.via software application for multi-modality clinical image reporting.

Located in the CT scanning department, the Definition Flash is being used for a range of procedures including vascular, orthopaedic and neuro work.  Paediatric patients are also examined using the system and plans are underway for it to be used for cardiac work in the near future.  The Definition AS is being used for general, all-purpose scanning.
