Royal United Hospital installs mammo

The Royal United Hospital Breast Unit in Bath, offers a symptomatic service and a specialist family history service. With its two mammography systems due for replacement, the team chose the 3Dimensions mammography system with Hologic 3D Mammography technology on both.

Superintendent mammographer Alison Smith said: “Our priority was to source a system that offers high image quality. We also required both stereotactic biopsy and tomosynthesis-guided breast biopsy functionality. Hologic’s reputation is excellent and, ergonomically, the 3Dimensions system is very easy to work with. Despite the workflow challenges that are inevitable as part of an installation project, Hologic made the process completely stress-free.”

Hologic breast health sales specialist Kathryn Cooke added: “RUH Bath has our ClarityHD High Resolution 3D Imaging technology on both systems, designed to increase diagnostic certainty.”
