Scanner boosts confidence at Musgrove Park

Musgrove Park Hospital’s antenatal ultrasound department has acquired a Toshiba Aplio 500 ultrasound system which is assisting in screening for abnormalities. It was chosen for its high image quality, ergonomics and manoeuvrability, as sonographer Diana Downs explained: “When compared with rival machines, the Aplio 500 delivers superior image quality. It gives us more confidence when screening for fetal abnormalities.”
Part of Taunton and Somerset NHS Foundation Trust, the general hospital is the largest in Somerset, providing neonatal intensive care for the county.
