Winners of the 2015 Terumo/BSIR Interventional Scholarship had the opportunity to attend the Leipzig Interventional Course (LINC 2016), a leading meeting for peripheral and vascular intervention.

The scholarship is an opportunity for up and coming interventional radiologists to attend one of the premier European interventional radiology meetings.  This is the seventh year that Terumo UK and the BSIR have supported the competition, that calls for a 500 word-case study with imaging of a challenging interventional procedure.

Among a record number of entries, the winning ones were: ‘Mid-gut stenting: A transhepatic approach’ by Dr Usman Raja, interventional radiology fellow at Imperial College London, and “Treatment of central venous catheter insertion injury: The endovascular approach’ by Dr Kelvin Tan, an interventional radiology fellow at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.  The two winning case studies will be published on the learning section of the BSIR website.
