AI for dementia diagnosis

Dementia is a major cause of death and more than 850,000 people live with dementia in the UK, with around one-third of the population likely to develop dementia later in life. Dementia’s societal impact is significant and places a heavy burden on patients and caregivers. Its unique impact on the patient’s cognitive function and changes in behaviour and personality make it difficult to manage, leading to emotional exhaustion and stress for caregivers. Dementia results in substantial financial costs, currently estimated to be £25 billion per annum in the UK.
