Excerpt:

Point-of-care ultrasound systems continue to improve in quality and practicality and undoubtedly have a role to play in many clinical settings, at the patient’s bedside or in primary care. However, until recently, they have been of limited use within general radiology departments where high-end instruments with superior processing power are close at hand. With ever-improving technology, a new generation of point-of-care ultrasound systems has evolved, combining good image quality and robustness in a format that is ideal for use in the interventional radiology suite.
