Put simply, it is possible to eliminate all other MRI accidents and injuries that do occur. It is widely acknowledged, however, that the number of incidents reported, for many reasons that will become clear, is likely to be a very small percentage of the true number that occur. From that perspective, it’s questionable whether any service where the number of adverse events is unknown can be considered ‘relatively safe’.
