Soft tissue sarcomas pose a unique challenge in the realm of oncology due to their rarity and diverse histological subtypes. Multidisciplinary team (MDT) collaboration is essential for timely diagnosis and management, drawing upon the expertise of radiologists, surgeons, oncologists, histopathologists and clinical nurse specialists. Ultrasound is the primary choice in the initial assessment of soft tissue masses, plays an essential role in their management and is a vital component of the soft tissue sarcoma MDT. In this article, we explore further the role ultrasound plays in the initial assessment, accurate diagnosis and treatment planning of soft tissue masses as part of the soft tissue sarcoma MDT.
