Scottish BSP film readers hear about 3D versus 2D mammography

Hologic UK breast health product and marketing manager Paula Scully, Dr Julie Cooke, Hologic’s Lynne Callan and Dr Janet Litherland.
Delegates at the recent annual Scottish NHS Breast Screening Programme (BSP) meeting in Edinburgh had first-hand experience of Hologic’s latest breast tomosynthesis solution complete with tomosynthesis biopsy capability.
The half day event was organised by Dr Janet Litherland from the Scottish BSP. Key speaker Dr Julie Cooke from the Jarvis Breast Centre, Guildford, spoke on her experiences with breast tomography and what differences delegates can expect to experience using 3D instead of 2D. She also discussed imaging techniques and challenged delegates to consider their experiences against the Scottish NHS guidelines and those in England too.
“With delegates travelling from all over Scotland the meeting was a deemed a great success as it gave opportunities for them to network with colleagues and peers from across the region and to share their experiences,” concluded Dr Litherland.
