Seven-year PACS contract for South Tees Hospitals

Agfa HealthCare general manager Grant Witheridge and South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust chief executive Simon Pleydell sign the seven-year contract for updated PACS and RIS provision.  With them are radiology chief of service Dr Jeremy Dean, radiology systems manager Michelle Harrison, divisional manager radiology Cynthia Wilson and Agfa key account manager David Wright.

Agfa HealthCare has signed a seven-year contract with South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust to update the hospital’s PACS, RIS, CR and CVIS.

Replacement of the trust’s existing Agfa HealthCare PACS, RIS and CR with fully-integrated Impax 6.5 and Impax RIS 5.7 solutions will take place, along with the Impax business intelligence solution to provide historical, current, and predictive views of radiology operations.

Trust radiology systems manager Michelle Harrison said: “The current PACS and RIS contracts were due for renewal, so we went out to tender.  We received five final bids before awarding the contract to Agfa.  We felt that its solutions were the best and allow us a integrated approach that will meet local and national requirements now and in the future.”
