Sheffield Children’s Hospital open two brand new Samsung AccE Gc85 rooms in paediatric department

Sheffield Children’s Hospital has recently enhanced its diagnostic capabilities with the installation of two state-of-the-art Samsung GC85 AccE rooms from distributor MIS Healthcare. These advanced imaging suites are designed to provide precise and efficient diagnostic imaging services tailored specifically for paediatric patients.

One notable feature of these rooms is the inclusion of the glass-free detector, which has garnered positive feedback from users for its lightweight design and ease of use. This innovative detector not only ensures patient comfort but also enhances the overall efficiency of the imaging process.

Helen McQuillan, radiology manager, said: “The Samsung GC85 AccE DR room was our system of choice for specialist paediatric imaging for several reasons. Samsung’s fully automated ceiling suspended system has enhanced workflow and allowed us to streamline our processes. We look forward to utilising Samsung’s dedicated paediatric protocols, single blade collimation and automated filtration to reduce patient dose whilst maintaining the best image quality.

“The implementation of Samsung’s ultra-light weight, robust, GlassFree detectors has given radiographers piece of mind when imaging patients, allowing them to focus on delivering the best patient care.

“The radiographers have found the applications training superb – consistent, friendly, professional, and easily contactable whenever required.

“From start to finish collaboration with Samsung and their Project team was seamless, successfully replacing and installing two new rooms in a few months.”
