Shrewsbury sonographer’s choice pleases paediatrician

At Shrewsbury Hospital are consultant neonatologists Dr A Moore, Dr W Tyler and Dr R J Welch, Toshiba Medical Systems ultrasound applications specialist Louise Higgins, consultant paediatrician Dr A Kannivelu and consultant neonatologist Dr S Deshpande.
Shrewsbury Hospital, part of Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust, has purchased a Toshiba Aplio 400 ultrasound scanner as a replacement to be used in the special care baby unit and in an outpatient paediatric cardiology clinic and outpatient UTI clinic.
Consultant paediatrician, cardiology, Dr Ari Kannivelu said: “We selected Toshiba as it satisfied various users under different domains, being a replacement machine for shared use, mainly for cranial ultrasound and echocardiography in the neonatal unit, for the children’s cardiac clinic echocardiography, and for the UTI clinic renal/abdominal scans.”
