South London Healthcare NHS Trust has installed a Somatom Definition AS CT system from Siemens Healthcare at Queen Mary’s Hospital Sidcup. The 64-slice Definition AS has a high temporal resolution of up to 165ms combined with fast coverage at 64 slices per rotation, showing the finest anatomical details.
“The main benefits are its speed and ease-of-use,” said radiology services manager Bradley Smith. “And its design advantages have made a real difference; for example, the big table limit means we can get larger people through the system.”
“The adaptable Definition AS is ideally suited to be the sole CT system on site at Queen Mary’s,” said Clive West, regional sales manager at Siemens.
