Sir Alex Ferguson celebrates ‘signing’ of Toshiba

Shaking hands on the agreement are Toshiba Medical Systems Europe ceo Chikao Kamijima and Sir Alex Ferguson.

At the official launch of an agreement between Toshiba Medical Systems and Manchester United FC, manager Sir Alex Ferguson said: “We have already made a couple of big signings this summer – but this is also a big signing for us and probably the most important step forward we have taken in a long, long time.”

As reported in last month’s RAD Magazine, Toshiba has become the club’s official medical systems partner.

Toshiba Medical Systems Europe ceo Chikao Kamijima, who was presented with a signed first team shirt, spoke of a “great brand match” between the two organisations and that their shared innovative ethos meant a mutual desire to constantly improve.  He added: “This exciting opportunity will enable Toshiba Medical Systems and Manchester United to push the boundaries of sports medicine in a controlled environment to facilitate new treatment pathways and techniques, which will eventually be to the benefit of all.”
