xWave and Soliton

Healthcare software developer and supplier Soliton IT is collaborating with provider of clinical decision support software xWave Technologies in a bid to enhance radiologist workflow, streamline processes and improve reporting efficiency. The partnership aims to integrate xWave’s clinical decision support solutions seamlessly into Soliton IT’s systems.

Soliton IT specialises in designing and implementing radiology information systems (RIS) and sharing solutions for NHS trusts and boards, imaging networks, clinics, teaching centres and private hospitals. Its suite of solutions, including the RIS system Radiology+, is operational in more than 150 hospitals nationwide.

xWave Technologies’ core products xWave CDS, xWave Smart Referring and xWave Smart Audit use AI and clinical guidelines to drive quality, consistency and efficiency across imaging referrals, vetting and scheduling. Supporting both referrers and radiology teams, they are designed to ensure that referrals are appropriate, complete and actionable.

Soliton IT sales and commercial manager Bob Childe said: “Our collaboration with xWave Technologies enhances our existing capabilities by embedding intelligent clinical decision support directly into our RIS solutions. This means radiologists and imaging teams can benefit from automated vetting, improved referral quality and more efficient reporting, without adding unnecessary administrative burdens.”

Integrating Soliton’s existing radiology portfolio and deploying the xWave CDS solution directly into Soliton IT’s systems will enhance vetting workflows through rapid analysis of clinical information and test appropriateness to flag incomplete or low value referrals.

“Together, we are enabling scalable, sustainable improvements to imaging services across the UK, delivered through technology that complements, rather than disrupts, existing systems,” commented xWave Technologies chief growth officer Stefan McDonald.
