South Tyrone Hospital delivers cardiac CT service

Philips Healthcare CT business leader UK&I Colin Murray, lead CT radiographer Lisa Ferguson, CT radiographer Bronagh McAleer, Philips CT applications specialist Allison Lecky, CT radiographers Aoibheann McGirr and Yvonne McKenna and Philips account manager Morgan Evers.
Philips Healthcare has supplied South Tyrone Hospital in Northern Ireland with a 128-slice Ingenuity CT scanner, replacing an older model that provided outpatient CT scans for ten years. The hospital has now commenced cardiac CT scanning.
Lead CT radiographer Lisa Ferguson said: “We found that the transition to a new manufacturer went very smoothly, given the user-friendly interface of the Philips system and the support we received from the clinical application specialists.
“The scanner’s patient-centred CT imaging methods ensure optimisation of image quality and radiation dose for each patient. In terms of service provision within the trust, the installation has enabled us to commence the first cardiac CT service.”
