Southmead Hospital, part of North Bristol NHS Trust, has expanded its MRI capabilities with a Philips Healthcare Ingenia 3.0T system that will be used to assist the radiology department in neuro and MSK imaging.

MRI lead superintendent radiographer Ann Case said: “We opted for a Philips scanner again because we already have two Philips MRI systems and we are therefore very familiar with the functions, making the learning curve for the new equipment much shorter.  We also received excellent training from the Philips personnel, who provided us with great after-sales service.”

“The scanner is very patient friendly particularly with the shorter, wider bore which reduces claustrophobia and anxiety,” added Case.
