SPECT/CT delivers clearer information to Bedford doctors

Bedford Hospital has replaced its ten-year-old gamma camera with a Philips BrightView XCT SPECT/CT gamma camera. Being designed specifically for nuclear medicine, it means that NM technicians will not require CT retraining.
Modality lead for nuclear imaging Amanda Brookes said: “We are delighted with the system, it has enabled us to carry out new types of procedures and provide a better service to patients.
“The majority of our work is with cancer patients and we have been able to provide doctors with clearer information in one patient visit, making detection and treatment faster and more accurate.”
