Stepping Hill plans extended service with scanner

A state-of-the-art MRI scanner is ready to provide new services to patients at Stepping Hill Hospital in Stockport. The 1.5T Philips Achieva scanner is expected to provide high quality images in shorter scanning times.
The system, which will scan an average of 9,000 patients a year, has software that ensures that it provides consistent and reproducible results, regardless of patient age, patient position or pathology. The service will operate seven days a week for 12 to 14 hours a day.
