Derriford Hospital in Plymouth has upgraded its radiology services with 10 Toshiba ultrasound systems.
Eight systems are installed in general radiology, breast care and the antenatal clinic and two Viamo portable systems are installed for radiology and on the urology unit for bedside transplant assessment.
Senior radiographer Christopher Haydon said: “We have always found the after-sales support from Toshiba to be first class in engineering maintenance and in support from the applications team. Where some systems excel in a particular field, as an all-round performer, I think the Aplio XG probably has no equal.
“The Viamo is a welcome addition, bringing together the imaging quality of the larger systems with the functional advantages of small size and the ease-of-use touch screen technology.”
