The International Cancer Imaging Society announces its 2024 programme of events

The International Cancer Imaging Society (ICIS) is delighted to announce its 2024 programme of events; visit icimagingsociety.org.uk for full details!

Since its foundation in 1998, the society has grown to include more than 80 elected fellows, an international membership representing over 50 countries globally, and expanded to deliver both in-person and online courses covering the specialist and ever-expanding topic of oncological imaging, which is integral in the diagnosis and multidisciplinary management of cancer patients.

Forthcoming webinars – register for ‘Interesting cases from The Royal Marsden’ by Dr Eleanor Moskovic, on March 11, and a ‘Thoracic Oncologic Imaging Update’ by Dr Mizuki Nishino and Dr Luba Frank on Wednesday, May 8. In September, a joint webinar with the British Society of Breast Radiology.

ICIS Interactive Masterclass workshops focus on specific cancers and offer mentored case-based learning, supported by a detailed workbook, delivered online to small groups to promote a high level of interaction between faculty and participants. The Masterclass in Oncology Whole-Body MRI will be held in July with other workshops planned. The ICISi Masterclass in Gynaecological Cancer will be held at the Siemens Academy in Warsaw on May 24.

Our flagship event, the 23rd Annual Teaching Course will be hosted jointly with the Singapore Radiological Society (SRS) and the College of Radiologists Singapore (CRS). We are delighted to be joining with our Singaporean colleagues to bring the annual course to Asia for the first time for ICIS SGCR-WIRES 2024, September 27-29, 2024, at The Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore.

The theme of ICIS SGCR-WIRES 2024, ‘Illuminating Cancer Care’ will highlight the evolving role of imaging and intervention in modern clinical practice, in an era of breakthroughs in the understanding of carcinogenesis and major developments in cancer treatment and precision medicine. All this in tandem with unprecedented advances in imaging technology, theragnostics, interventional techniques and artificial intelligence (AI).

The programme will include keynote lectures, plenary and educational sessions covering a wide range of topics related to the specialist field of oncological imaging, alongside interventional radiology and the role of allied health professionals and nursing colleagues working in oncology. The variety of sessions will ensure that all interests and needs are catered for, while hands-on workshops will provide detailed teaching on specific cancers. Pre-conference workshops will offer the opportunity for focused learning on imaging and intervention.

The faculty comprises ICIS fellows and local/regional colleagues, all experts in this specialist field, with extensive knowledge and experience of clinical practice and cutting-edge research to share with international colleagues. Scientific sessions will provide opportunities for presentation of research through oral presentations and educational posters; a range of prizes will be awarded. The abstract submission deadline is May 31, 2024.

Full details of the meeting, programme and abstract submission are available at ICIS-SGCR-WIRES.com.

Registration opens on February 28, 2024 with early-bird rates available until June 16. Professor Pek-Lan Khong, ICIS president and organising chair, ICIS SGCR-WIRES 2024, and the organising committee, look forward to welcoming you to Singapore!
