Torbay Hospital in Devon has installed the first of two Innova IGS 520 systems from GE Healthcare, with the second to be installed in May.  Said to make complex procedures made simple, it is a single plane image-guided system for cardiovascular and electrophysiology procedures in the cath/EP Lab.

Interventional superintendent radiographer Tim Hutchinson said: “Our new IGS 520 has some really useful features which we are finding easy and intuitive to use.  We are seeing a noticeable dose reduction with no loss of image quality.  It is easy to use, gives fantastic picture quality and, despite its size is easy to move.  Overall we are very pleased with our new system and the support and training provided by GE Healthcare.”
