Trauma surgeon routinely uses mini C-arm

Consultant orthopaedic and trauma surgeon Mr Simon Sturdee with Vertec product specialist Keith Lakin.

Calderdale Royal Hospital, West Yorkshire, has received a Hologic Fluoroscan Insight FD mini C-arm supplied by Vertec Scientific.

Consultant orthopaedic and trauma surgeon Mr Simon Sturdee said: “I use it on every list now and it’s absolutely excellent.  Before, I never routinely used x-ray for forefoot surgery such as scarfs and first MTP fusions but I do now with the mini C-arm because it’s so easy and really this is the best way to work to make sure everything is ok on-table.  I have used it for injections, all recent forefoot surgery and an ankle fusion and it was fine.”
