Advanced MRI superintendent at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (UCLH) Jay Patel has found contrast administration is greatly improved since receiving training on ulrich medical injector pumps supplied by Synapse Medical.

“I can now operate them with ease, significantly improving our contrast administration process. The pumps streamline workflow by reducing consumable use, only requiring a line change per patient and enabling a single 1,000mL saline bag to last a full day,” Patel said.

Expiry times are displayed on the main screen, allowing users to determine whether the cassette is reusable the next day. The flexibility of the pumps supports various injection modes, from simulated hand injections to high pressure injections for dynamic studies.

“A standout feature is the direct contrast administration from the pump, which enables close patient monitoring,” continued Patel. “The ability to pause or stop injections enhances safety and control. Additionally, a built-in storage tray keeps essential supplies within reach. “The user guide videos on the main screen and WhatsApp video guides have been invaluable for training and refreshing knowledge. The system has also handled Primovist scans seamlessly, despite different consumable requirements. Daily set-up is quick and super-users have effectively trained the team. The ergonomic design makes the pump easy to manoeuvre and its wi-fi connectivity eliminates cable hazards. A 12-hour battery life and fast charging further enhance convenience.”
