UKIO 2019
UKIO was held on June 10-12 2019 in Liverpool. This is the permanent amalgamation of the former UKRO and UKRC conferences and this year’s theme was ‘personalise and humanise’. Among the plenary speakers was professor of radiotherapy and oncology at Sheffield Hallam University Professor Heidi Probst who presented the SCoR Martine Jackson lecture on ‘Focusing on the patient experience’ while chief allied health professions officer, NHS England, Suzanne Rastrick presented the SCoR Stanley Melville lecture on ‘Leadership in radiography – lived experience.’ New this year was a UKIO question time panel that discussed ‘Peer review in the NHS – all stick and no carrot.’
Delegates had the opportunity to engage with technology advances in the exhibition demonstration zone and there was an open learning programme in the exhibition hall, with a different theme for each day.
Next year the conference will be held at the ACC in Liverpool on June 1-3.
