Ultrasound family receives positive reviews at launch events

Professor David Cosgrove (centre) joins a demonstration of Carestream’s Touch ultrasound system.
Carestream has launched its Touch ultrasound systems at events in Manchester and London. Both evenings were well supported by key imaging professionals and the first products in a new ultrasound family received positive reviews.
Senior research investigator at Imperial College School of Medicine, previously professor of clinical ultrasound, Professor David Cosgrove said: “In our evaluation at Charing Cross Hospital, users quickly adapted to the unique touch control panel. Perhaps surprisingly, the lack of control knobs or an actual trackball were not felt to be a problem. Of course, its wipe-clean nature was much appreciated. The very fast boot up and quiet running were also great practical benefits as was the easy plug and unplug of the neat probes. Imaging and Doppler were very good. All round, a spectacular system and, no doubt, a harbinger of the future.”
