Ultrasound workshop for rheumatologists

Toshiba Medical Systems sponsored an ultrasound workshop for rheumatologists in the Mersey region.
The programme for the day opened with a presentation on the principles and physics of ultrasound, then a talk on musculoskeletal ultrasound in rheumatology. These lectures were followed by a practical workshop showing normal anatomy and pathology of hands and wrists, and ankles and feet.
Dr Sarang Chitale, clinical research fellow at the department of rheumatology, University Hospital Aintree, organised the course together with two consultant rheumatologists colleagues from Aintree, Dr Cristina Estrach and Dr Robert Thompson.
Toshiba supplied four scanners for the workshops, including two of its flagship Aplio XG systems.
