University of Wales Hospital installs a second cath lab

In front are Lee Moger and Sally Maclachlan of Philips UKI, lead cardiologist Dr Peter O’Callaghan shaking hands with Jane Robinson of Philips UKI, radiographer Tony Rodriquez and staff nurse Georgina Inesku.  Behind are radiographer Jason Dalton, Chris Bax and Aiden Jones of Philips UKI, staff nurse Vivienne Rees and superintendent radiographer Penny Lloyd.

As part of the South Wales cardiology network renewal programme, Philips UKI has supplied a second cath lab to University of Wales Hospital in Cardiff.  The AlluraClarity FD10 single plane lab will operate together with a Philips biplane system, also installed as part of the renewal programme.

Also delivered with the system was FlexVision XL 56″ 8MP monitor, providing a high level of detail for each procedure, that allows the user to see up to eight different inputs on a single widescreen.

Superintendent radiographer Penny Lloyd said: “With the large format, CTO images are easily visualised and complex anatomy demonstrated.”
