Urgent call for ultrasound platforms is met with a speedy delivery

At the end of March, Esaote delivered 103 portable ultrasound systems to four regions in Italy. The tender was for the delivery of 155 ultrasound platforms to support the national health system and was launched by Consip, the purchasing body that procures goods and services for Italian public administrations. The systems will support intensive care and emergency departments facing the COVID-19 pandemic.
Esaote says the purchase order was formally received on March 25. In addition to reorganising distribution at the production site in Florence, Esaote was able to assemble, set-up, deliver and test the systems in only three days.
“We are working hard and we are ready to play our part to help our health system and our fellow citizens,” said Esaote Italy country business director Marco Mugnaini. “We are therefore very proud to have responded to the tender launched by Consip for civil protection within the terms and the deadlines. A dutiful “thank you” to all Esaote employees, but above all to colleagues in production, logistics and technical assistance who have worked to be able to achieve a challenging but vitally important result.”

At the Florence production site, as in Genoa, Esaote has reorganised work shifts to protect the health of its employees and guarantee them the correct fulfillment of government measures to prevent infection.
The diagnostic systems that Esaote has provided are simple to use and portable, so they can be brought to the patient’s bedside. They are equipped with four different probes capable of responding to the different needs of abdominal, cardiological, paediatric and vascular investigation.
