Versatile scanning suits patients large and small

Pictured at the handover of a GE Healthcare Logiq E9 ultrasound system to Birmingham Children’s Hospital are lead sonographer Jean Cahalane, advanced paediatric sonographers Andy Williams and Richard Brindley (holding a GE Healthcare Vscan pocket-size visualisation tool), GE Healthcare ultrasound sales specialist Jacquie Mather and applications specialist Sandra Twardun, and advanced paediatric sonographer Romesh Attwal.

When the hospital replaced ageing ultrasound equipment it needed a system that could produce high quality diagnostic images on nearly all sizes of patient, from neonates to adults.

Jean Cahalane said: “The Logiq E9 is used for a full range of paediatric scans and due to the light weight and ease of movement, it has been taken to wards for post-operative renal and liver transplant patients.”
