West Middlesex hospital raises awareness of vasa praevia

Sonographer Lisa Morgan, superintendent sonographer Alexandra Drought, Hitachi Medical Systems clinical applications specialist Shada Sadr-Azodi, sonographers Holly Lowery, Caroline Alff, Hayley Smith and Reena Jolly, and student sonographer Karishma Jolly.
West Middlesex University Hospital has chosen an Hitachi Aloka ProSound F75 to complement its existing Aloka equipment, ensuring compatibility and continuity within the obstetric ultrasound department.
With an extensive range of transducers including endocavity and 3D/4D modalities, the system platform delivers state-of-the-art technology and functionality.
Staff in the unit are said to be excited about using the 3D/4D software, particularly in relation to screening for vasa praevia, a rare but potentially devastating complication of pregnancy. Image quality and resolution are particularly good, especially in high BMI women.
