Wye Valley NHS Trust has launched its x-ray services transformation programme as part of an 11-year radiology partnership with Royal Philips.   The trust went live with the Philips managed service agreement in April, and since then a number of new systems have been delivered to trust sites, including a new digital x-ray room at the Hereford County Hospital.  The trust has also benefited from the launch of a service improvement training program for the radiology team, giving them a common platform to drive service improvement.

The x-ray room is already demonstrating how technology can help enable service transformations through operational efficiencies; the Philips Digital Diagnostic High Performance digital radiography system makes it quicker and easier for radiologists to adapt scanning rooms to accommodate patient needs.

Radiology services manager Robert Griffiths commented: “We’re already receiving positive feedback from employees who have said that they have noticed improvements in their working conditions, and I have high hopes for what Philips and the trust can achieve together.  The company understands the unique opportunity we have to bring more to our community, and I’m confident that its wealth of experience will help us collaboratively make changes that are focused on helping our patients and team members.”
