Superintendent radiographer Hilary Stowbridge and consultant orthodontist Dr Susana Dominguez-Gonzalez view Alder Hey’s newly installed dental system with senior dental radiographer Emma McDonough.
Alder Hey Children’s NHS Foundation Trust in Liverpool, one of the largest children’s hospitals in Europe, has installed the ProMax 3D CBVT dental system from Planmeca to carry out OPG and cephalometry as well 3D cone beam volumetric tomography examinations.
Alder Hey is the first hospital in the UK and first major paediatric centre in Europe to install the Planmeca ProMax 3D dental system, which was supplied by Xograph Healthcare.
The multipurpose digital system offers proven panoramic imaging capabilities, cephalometric and 3D imaging as well as advanced imaging software tools in the compact, free standing system. It allows side entry for practical and precise patient positioning, either in the standing or seated position. This is especially helpful for paediatric patients who can remain in eye contact with an accompanying adult.
