Physio practice introduces ultrasound

The Physios, Sheffield, is a growing multidisciplinary practice specialising in the management of MSK disorders. The team has always been interested in expanding the scope of its practice as well as broadening services towards prevention and maintenance of health. It is led by Paul Hattam, who tutors on post-graduate courses for doctors and physiotherapists, and it was this combined clinical and teaching role that led him to explore the use of ultrasound.
He was introduced to the Esaote range on a trip to Oslo, but before deciding on what to buy he invited a number of companies to perform demonstrations before settling on the MyLab Alpha system.
Hattam said: “My experience with Esaote was different from the start. There was no hard sell, just a confidence in the product and a clear commitment to after-sales support. Since purchasing the MyLab Alpha unit, I have had two further site visits with more promised.”
