Spire Nottingham Hospital opens its doors

Spire Nottingham Hospital’s imaging team with the Somatom Definition Flash CT.

Spire Nottingham Hospital has opened its doors to patients after a two-year building project costing almost £60 million.  The 58-bed hospital contains five theatres along with the latest in MRI scanning and robotic imaging technology.

One of the hospital’s features is a hybrid theatre containing Siemens Artis zeego robotic imaging technology.  At a cost of £1.5 million, it will help surgeons in many areas including heart and chest operations, brain surgery, joint replacements and complex spinal surgery.

The hospital has also invested in a 3.0T Siemens Magnetom MRI, the first for Spire Healthcare, as well as a Somatom Definition Flash CT, digital x-ray, fluoroscopy, cone beam CT, mammography and ultrasound.

Hospital imaging manager Claudia Welsh said: “With this equipment we will be able to offer the people in and around Nottingham exceptional care in a fantastic setting.  It is exciting to be able to work with new equipment that is at the forefront of modern imaging and we have a fantastic team of people to deliver our service.”
