First UK install of Voyager 1.5T MRI for Nuffield Health

Nuffield Health Derby Hospital has installed the UK’s first Signa Voyager 1.5T wide bore MRI system.

This is a direct replacement for the hospital’s previous system, which was a narrow bore, and has been welcomed by the department.  Patients are expected to benefit from many of the features that the Voyager brings, including the increased comfort of the wide bore, the low height Comfort Plus Table and the lightweight high channel integrated coils.

MR superintendent Kathryn Appleyard said: “The scanner gives us much more flexibility to accommodate the patients and clinicians needs.  We will be scanning our full range of MRI examinations and will make full use of the new features available on this scanner.”
