Dr Gray’s Hospital in Elgin, Scotland, is ensuring high-level disinfection of its intracavity and surface ultrasound probes using the trophon EPR automated disinfection system from Nanosonics.

Explaining the reasons for the trophon purchases, consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist Professor Grant Cumming said: “High level disinfection needed to be simple, quick and easy to use, as well as having effective bacterial kill.  The system also needed to have infection control and Scottish government support in terms of governance.  Our staff like the fact the probes are properly cleaned and that the machine is easy to use.”
