BIR hosts two-day learning and networking experience

Royal Glamorgan Hospital interventional radiologist Dr Gareth Davies with BIR president Andy Rogers.

More than 200 delegates attended November’s BIR Annual Congress that was introduced by BIR president Andy Rogers.  The event offered two days and four streams of thought-provoking presentations, with 14 companies in the exhibition.

Dr Gareth Davies delivered the Sir Godfrey Hounsfield Lecture ‘Early cancer diagnosis, can radiology make a difference?’ about his recent work leading on diagnostic service improvement to benefit patient cancer outcomes for the Wales Cancer Network.  He demonstrated how the UK compares to healthcare systems in Europe, in particular Denmark and to other continents.  After the lecture Dr Davies was presented with the Godfrey Hounsfield Award.
