Princess Elizabeth Hospital on the island of Guernsey has implemented the DR 600 multi-detector, high-productivity DR system from Agfa HealthCare. The solution is a central part of the hospital’s transformed x-ray room, which has been refurbished to offer a less stressful experience, especially for children.
When replacing its 14-year-old x-ray system, the radiology department decided to take an innovative approach to improving the experience for younger patients, decorating the x-ray room as a spaceship.
“The leading edge DR 600 is fully digital and fully automated; it gives us brilliant images very quickly and most importantly at a much lower dose,” said radiology services manager Alistair Richards. “Furthermore, it cuts down on musculoskeletal injuries and stress for our staff. Combined with the x-ray room makeover, it contributes to enhancing the patient experience, especially for small children. And it provided the best return on investment for the States of Guernsey.”
