Team of 70 Christie staff enter the Great Manchester Run

The Christie 70 for 70 team that took part in this year’s Great Manchester Run.
Seventy members of staff from The Christie took part in the Great Manchester Run in May to celebrate 70 years of the NHS. The group ran en-masse to raise money for The Christie charity and to kick off a series of celebrations planned at the trust to mark the milestone occasion.
The 70 for 70 team included doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, support and administration and clerical staff. Many chose to enter simply to support the cause, and others decided to join in due to a more personal connection.
The team was led by Christie consultant oncologist Dr Was Mansoor who has taken part in the run several times. He said: “I was honoured to be asked to lead The Christie 70 for 70 team. The NHS is an institution we are all proud to be part of and this is a wonderful milestone to celebrate. What better way than to come together and show the true team spirit with colleagues joining together to raise money to further improve services.”
