London centre will help advance AI healthcare revolution

Siemens Healthineers and King’s College London are among the contributors investing in the London Medical Imaging and Artificial Intelligence Centre for Value-Based Healthcare where the focus on AI in medical imaging will contribute to research into the development of methods for faster, earlier diagnosis and process automation as reported in RAD Magazine, December 2018.

The centre will train sophisticated AI algorithms from NHS medical images and patient data, to provide new tools for clinicians to transform diagnosis and care across a number of patient pathways, including dementia, heart failure and cancer.

“This investment marks a significant milestone in the work to link AI-based approaches to care pathways in the clinical setting.  This embodies all of our value promises within Siemens Healthineers – expanding precision medicine, transforming care delivery and improving the patient experience in the context of digitising healthcare,” said head of research and innovation at Siemens Healthineers GB&I Dr Craig Buckley.
