Veterinary practice enhances sustainability to go greener

Davies Veterinary Specialists has achieved the highest accolade of green-level accreditation from Investors in the Environment. The accreditation recognises the small animal veterinary referral practice’s commitment to promoting environmentally friendly initiatives and reducing its carbon footprint.
Among the practice’s sustainability actions are a ‘green pack’ with environmental policy information, recycling and energy conservation tips; stock control of drugs; elimination of nitrous oxide and introduction of lower-flow use of anaesthetic gases, which are higher impact greenhouse gases.
As reported last month, the group was also shortlisted for the Institute of Environmental Management Sustain-ability Impact Awards ‘best team’ 2019
Sustainability lead Ellie West, European specialist in veterinary anaesthesia and analgesia, said: “This is a magnificent achievement and has truly been a team effort across Davies. We are inspiring so many others with everything we are doing.”
