Devon and Exeter upgrades with three DR mobiles

Having identified the need to replace ageing mobile x-ray equipment, staff at Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital evaluated the available machines across the market and decided to upgrade their fleet with three GM85 units from Samsung.

Supplied by MIS Healthcare, the new compact and light units are easy to drive, and charge fully in around two hours. The systems use Samsung’s DR detectors that feature what is said to be industry-leading 80 per cent DQE to deliver high quality imaging at a low dose.

Radiology services manager Toni Hall said: “We are delighted to upgrade our fleet of mobile x-ray systems with the three Samsung GM85s. They have made a big impact on our delivery of bedside radiography, particularly for our neonatal and intensive care patients.”

Equipped with features such as S-Align and SimGrid as standard, the GM85 platforms offer state-of-the-art imaging performance within an easy to drive and user-friendly package. Straightforward software on the units ensures effective and efficient workflow with wireless image capture and PACS connectivity.
