Ipswich radiographer is star of Suffolk

Therapeutic radiographer at Ipswich Hospital Sue Downes has been named hospital/ ambulance person of the year in the Stars of Suffolk 2019 awards, supported by the East Anglian Daily Times and Ipswich Star.
Downes has been a therapeutic radiographer since 2003 and works within the planning team. Praising her dedication and for performing her job to the highest standards, her nominator said: “Dedicated Sue is responsible for planning radiotherapy for patients and ensuring they start their treatment on time. Despite working in a busy and stressful environment, she always shows the greatest professionalism and is an amazing colleague to her team.”
Downes was commended for always going the extra mile to make sure the needs of patients are met, as well being respectful and kind to everyone she meets.
