ScreenPoint Medical appoints USA vice president of sales

ScreenPoint Medical has appointed Nicki Bryan as vice president of sales for the USA. A healthcare informatics graduate of Chatham University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Bryan joins the company at an exciting time for its main product, Transpara AI for mammography.

Bryan was a key member of the Fujifilm Medical Systems organisation in the USA for seven years, the majority of that time as national director of women’s health.

She will work alongside ScreenPoint’s distribution partners Volpara Solutions and Siemens Healthineers to bring the benefits of Transpara to the American market.

ScreenPoint Medical chief operating officer Pieter Kroese said: “Nicki’s appointment comes at a very strategic time for Transpara. Following the successful launch at RSNA in 2019, the product is set to become the leading mammography AI system in the USA. Nicki, with her drive and motivation, will lead that dynamic. We realise that the healthcare market is dominated by the COVID-19 situation but breast cancer will not go away and the need for fast, effective diagnosis of the disease will be a constant for many years to come.”

Following its recognition by the FDA for both 2D and 3D mammography studies, a full roll-out is planned in 2020.

Bryan says: “The results of the clinical reader study ScreenPoint submitted to the FDA are very impressive. The study demonstrated that Transpara helped to improve the accuracy of radiologists when reading 3D mammograms and that it significantly reduced 3D reading time to about 35 seconds per examination. The ScreenPoint team understands that reading the number of images presented within a 3D mammography study is very challenging for radiologists, leading to burn out and unpredictable productivity. Transpara software changes that dynamic and by integration into reading workstations, workflow is much improved.”
