Cleveland Clinic brings heritage of care to London locations

Cleveland Clinic London is opening in central London over the coming year, bringing a new model of healthcare and what promises to be the most technologically advanced private hospital and outpatient building in the UK. With confirmed opening dates of the Outpatient Building at Portland Place in September 2021, soon followed by the brand new 184-bed hospital at Grosvenor Place in early 2022, CCL’s Imaging Services will provide CT, MRI, US, IR and general x-ray services ready to diagnose and perform advanced surgical interventions.

Cleveland Clinic was founded in Cleveland, Ohio in 1921, and has a long heritage and strong expertise in digital and clinical innovations, with an international hospital network already established across the US, UAE and Canada. Through collaboration and learning, Cleveland Clinic London will combine the best of Cleveland Clinic with the best of UK healthcare. It will also bring a unique physician-led leadership structure championing their vision to be the best place to receive care anywhere, and the best place to work in healthcare.

Cleveland Clinic London will provide patients with access to the most up-to-date technological advances and diagnostic support, backed by a strong reputation for exceptional patient care. The Imaging Services department will open with state-of-the-art image acquisition equipment to be a world leader in radiological services, including:

  • CT: Siemens Somatom Force at both locations and a dedicated CT Somatom.top for efficient and safe scanning of ICU patients. Cardiac and colonoscopy CT imaging will be also be performed alongside all other advanced CT procedures and techniques
  • MRI: Siemens Cage MRI at both locations and intraoperative MRI to support surgical tumour resections
  • General x-ray: DR rooms at both locations, with fluoroscopy, endoscopy, DR mobile x-ray and both 2D and 3D C-arms for intraoperative imaging
  • Interventional: cardiac cath lab, EP, biplane and single plane IR suites and hybrid operating suite
  • Enterprise Imaging: EPIC software integration with dedicated on site support
  • Ultrasound

With over 250 caregivers already employed across Cleveland Clinic London in key leadership roles, the Imaging Services team has made great progress in the face of lockdowns and earlier construction delays. With imaging equipment installation locked in over the coming months, the team is now hard at work writing integral policies, procedures, training and education plans to ensure a world class service, providing patients with a safe, efficient and quality service.
