Aplio chosen for children’s hospital

With a Toshiba Aplio XG are radiology registrars Dr Rishi Sethi and Dr Suraj Amonkar, radiology assistant Michelle Morris, superintendent radiographer Val Saville, radiology assistant Wendy Wrigley. Toshiba applications specialist ultrasound Nicolette Sims and consultant radiologist Dr A Shabani.

Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital has installed a Toshiba Aplio XG at its Pendlebury site, with a second system planned for the new children’s hospital, under construction next to Manchester Royal Infirmary and due for completion later this year.

The original children’s hospital, which dates back to 1829, provides specialist health care for children from the north west and beyond. When completed the new hospital will be the largest children’s hospital in the UK. Designed so that all departments are close to the equipment and support they need, patients and staff will not have to travel far around the hospital. It will also have a purpose-built accommodation unit with en suite rooms for carers and families.
