Annual oncology awards presented

The Oncology Team of the Year 2010

Cancer teams working with NHS Improvement have dominated the Pfizer Oncology Awards, with London’s Whittington Hospital named Oncology Team of the Year 2010 and Glenfield Hospital in Leicester highly commended.

NHS Improvement is now encouraging NHS cancer networks and trusts nationwide to adopt the model locally.

The team at Whittington Hospital, run by Dr Pauline Leonard, won the award for their work in piloting and implementing systems which have resulted in significant savings for the NHS.
